No emotional or mental stress after missing five years?

Not that it was necessary to illustrate in this movie, but it would've added more depth and realism to the fact so many people missed five years.

I was in the hospital for liver failure a couple years ago and I was out for about two weeks, which isn't that long, but knowing I missed that time really bothered me for a while and I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had that problem. I couldn't imagine the stress someone would feel being out for five years.
