Tough return

So in this we find out all the people who vanished in Thanos' snap returned five years later in the exact same spot they disappeared. Wonderful....except that's going to be very rough on the all the people whose planes we saw crashing at the end of Infinity War. Thousands will die as they reappear in midair where their plane used to be and they fall to the ground. All those driving will reappear in the middle of the road. It'll be messy.

That was actually addressed-- when Hulk undid Thanos' snap, he made sure that everyone was returned safely, so no one would materialize inside of another person or a wall or in the air, etc.

reply

Yeah right, he instantly knew where everyone was in the universe five years earlier and made sure they had soft landings. I don't think so.

reply

No, his request/wish was to bring back everyone that was snapped away in a way that ensured their safety. The Russos specified this, but even if they didn't, it's obvious-- it isn't as if the heroes didn't also consider this. When Hulk performed his snap, he brought everyone back, and anyone who would be endangered by returning was returned somewhere safe.

Believe what ever fairy tales you want.

You know, you're right... a purple-skinned Titan shows up on earth wearing a gauntlet forged in the heart of a star by a 20-foot-tall dwarf, collects 6 magic gems, and snaps his fingers instantly erasing half of all life in the universe, but a team of super-powered humans team up with a talking raccoon to travel through time via the quantum realm to acquire their own set of magic gems, which are used in a gauntlet of their own forging, by a brilliant scientist who was turned into a 10-foot-tall green rage monster by gamma radiation, to bring trillions upon trillions of lifeforms who've been dead for 5 years back to life-- I'm good with that. But you're totally right, how silly to believe that the green rage monster could specify that they come back to life in a safe place.

Endgame? do you mean INFINTY WAR?

Thank you, post corrected.

You could have put a little more thought into your post to stimulate better discussion outside of the obvious trains, planes and automobiles:

The snap and unsnap wasn't zero sum or achieved without a lot of collateral damage. Pilots, doctors, conductors, or anyone in control of operating moving equipment that died caused deaths that can't be unsnapped.

Probably lots of suicides and lack of life saving services were no doubt experienced as a result of the snap.

In countries at war there were no doubt more aggression resulting in more deaths.

Those starving or living in impoverished areas probably died faster due to less people being able to deliver life saving resources.

How does the snap handle a pregnancy? Or a newborn to a single mom? Lots and lots of collateral damage that doesn't get rectified due to the snap.

Thanos was an uncaring monster if he thought that 50% would have a balanced effect. 1 person could be supporting 10 impoverished people and getting rid of that one person and 1 impoverished person is not balanced and is not helping the world or the universe.
