i just realized this movie is kinda mediocore. its nice. but its not as best as homecoming. the comedy is not very good. the vilian origin is idiotic at best. the action is much better this is the only thing this movie does better then homecoming. but the rest? not so good. its too much light hearted and dosent have any emotional impact. its was made to be an average summer movie and nothing more. it dosent have a meaning and the story dident evolved from homecoming. i still dont hate it i think its nice just not what i expected. i expected something bigger then that.

I agree. Homecoming brought out Parker's personality more and the other characters had more meat to them. When it comes to characters, everything here is very flat. It is all about the action and there is no emotional investment in characters. I think it all comes down to a very mediocre script that focuses too much on flashy visuals with occasional one liners. Not as good as I thought it would be.

I agree.

While I loved the chemistry btwn Tom/Peter and Jake/Mysterio in this film (Jake was REALLY good honestly), BUT.... I agree... I much more enjoyed Homecoming. Don't get me wrong, FFH was really good an enjoyable (loved that I couldn't figure out everything from jump), but it was just missing something.

To be honest, I think you're right about Homecoming vs. FFH. I think in Homecoming we got to see more of Peter's personality a bit more. We got to see the characters a LITTLE more fleshed out a bit. But see...that's been my slight gripe with the MCU version of the Spider-Man films in the first place. I feel like the MCU version of Spider-Man focuses a little too much time and energy on the "Avengers", Tony, and other MCU characters, instead of focusing on PETER and his story, his motivations, his feelings, his challenges....etc. We also know very LITTLE (next to nil actually) about Peter's friends and surrounding back characters. Is it just me who is a little annoyed at this? We barely even know a thing about Aunt May. No mention of uncle Ben... No mention of even whether or not Aunt May ever grieved his death lol... I mean... Seriously... I just feel like the MCU version of Spider-Man films lack a lot of DEPTH to them.

I actually prefer the OG Tobey/Raimi SM films because they had heart and depth. You really FELT for Peter. He was struggling. This MCU version of Peter (while I LOVE Tom Holland in the role) is basically a trust-fund kid and hasn't really had to "struggle" much if at all! Not only that, but the writing can be a bit TOO "kiddy-ish" (imo). I mean, I'm glad they made Peter a real HS student lol, but did they have to dumb down the movie with a little TOO many silly jokes here and there? In Homecoming the jokes felt real and were actually pretty funny. IN FFH however, the jokes fell FLAT imo. I mean, how many bad teacher jokes can you have?

It's a by the number mostly unoriginal Marvel flick.
The part about SM trying to be what Stark wanted him to be was the only worthwhile.

The huge portion of the film centers on the Peter-MJ romance (or courting, or attempt at courting). That is the make-it-or-break it for many viewers, and it just didn't work for me. MJ's personality was too off-putting and she spends most of the movie looking kind of miserable (you tend to fall in love with somebody with inner life/light), and I would've bought into it somewhat if Peter and MJ shared some brief touching moments together in Homecoming, but they really didn't.

I still liked the movie but was also a little disappointed, because it grossed over $1 billion and I thought I'd be seeing one of the best Spider-Man movies out there. Many of the jokes were decently funny, especially Ned's lines (although that teacher who was obsessed with Witchcraft...his character seemed weird.) Flash was not utilized very well imo, and that moment where his mom was absent seemed kind of abrupt (was there some Deleted Scene explaining more about Flash's domestic situation?).

I get how the screenwriters were trying to make Peter so overwhelmed with making difficult choices and the burdens of mounting responsibility, but I felt Peter's inner struggles more strongly in Homecoming and even Spider-Man 2 with Tobey.

Towards the end, however, I did like the Happy scenes with the kids as they were prepared to die. I felt like they were all suddenly gelling well together and had some good comedic chemistry, and even MJ was letting her guard down and becoming a likeable character. I personally think they went too far with her edgy/sarcastic acidity. Maybe reduce that acid by 50%, please!

What touching moments in Homecoming? She just makes random quips

What I meant was if there were touching moments in Homecoming between Peter and MJ, then I would find their romance in Far From Home more believable. But, as you said, there weren't any in Homecoming.

Peter was way more into Liz Allen anyways (Vulture's daughter). And MJ was way too caustic and constantly throwing up very unfriendly barriers. I really did not understand how Peter would fall madly in love with her in Far From Home. I just wasn't feeling it (felt more like a script contrivance rather than genuine chemistry).

Peter and Michelle seems like random pairing. I hate when movies have characters fall in love out of nowhere or after 5 mins of talking. I don't see the chemistry either and the pairing feels forced like it's a must for the show to go on

barely mediocre. Homecoming was good, with a better villain. I'm kinda bummed Marvel and Sony agreed to keep Spidey Kid going, was hoping for a Sony reboot.
