Suit (spoiler?)

Why not just use the Iron Spider suit? Presumably the nano-tech can make it pack up real small. Even if he left it behind and Aunt May didn't know any better and sent the wrong one, wouldn't Fury or Happy just being/deliver it?

I get that from a "story-telling standpoint," they want to make it so that he has to take a step back, then do the Night Monkey bit, then build his own suit to show him evolving as a character, but NOT using the Iron Spider suit bothered me the whole time.

The whole Night Monkey thing was him trying to cover up the fact that he was Spider-Man because the costume was complete different than what Spider-Man actually wears. Peter figured if he wore one of the recognizable costumes everyone would figure out he was Spider-Man.

reply

If you listen to the technobable he was saying while designing it, he specially designed the electric web shooters so he could take down those drones. Could be that the Iron Spider suit wasn't equipped correctly.

reply

From a story-telling standpoint they explained that his secret identity would be blown if Spider-Man shows up in Prague when Peter Parker is there, especially after he showed up in Washington, D.C. under similar circumstances.

It didn't look like the Iron Spider was travel-ready

It was in a suitcase-sized chamber, plugged into the wall with a warning "do not unplug" scrawled next to it

He couldn't have taken it even if he'd wanted to
