This will be the 7th Spiderman movie.

Do we really need 7 Spidy movies?

No.

reply

Duly noted.

reply

Thanks, we will soon have 8 Spidy movies soon.

don't forget Spider-Verse.

reply

Oh yeah, thats 8.

And it looks lame AF. They have the budget, great actors, everything they need. But it looks like it will be a total straightforward plot with some lameas5 monsters and cheap laughs. Did something happen from the previous one in the franchise with this actor, that was actually kinda good...

reply

We didn't really need Spiderman 3 and Garfield's movies, no.

reply

Garfield's first spidy movie was decent. Homecoming didn't make any sense because Iron Man showed up to save the day. And I am sure the villain in this one will be easily defeatable. We just don't know if any of the other 25+ Avengers will show up to help Spidy.

reply

To each his own, I found Garfield's movies terribly boring, especially the first one.

Iron Man showing up makes sense because Holland's movies are part of the MCU, and Tony is Peter's mentor. Iron Man "saved the day" with the ship, but Spidey still defeated Vulture on his own.

I am sick of this topic coming up and people like you that want to start crap with Spider-Man fans! If I could I'd shove a bar of soap in your mouth!

reply

I ask the same question when it comes to Fast and Furious movies.

reply

there are going to be 11 of those...

reply

We don't need them, but I don't mind them. Especially now that they have both aspects of the character right with Holland. Not only that, but it's nice that he's built into the larger universe within the MCU. Also isn't that how comics are? You'll have multiple runs of a single character or alternate versions of that character at one time.

As always, if you don't like it, you don't have to watch it.

i have a boilerplate response whenever someones says 'we have too many XXX' or 'why do people like this crap.'

one of the great glories of free enterprise systems & of living in a free country in general is that we can all curate our own lives. we can buy the kind of deodorant we like, the kind of food we prefer to eat, and watch & read & listen to the things we like to. and it doesn't hurt anyone else even a little bit.

if you don't want to watch far from home, fair enough. go off and enjoy the things you want to see.

i grew up loving spiderman, and, while i think they could have left a few of those films on the drawing board, i'm generally happy that they're out there for me to see.

in fact, as critic matt singer recently said, this is probably the greatest time there's ever been to be a spiderman fan.
there was a great game recently. i don't game myself, but lots of people seemed to think it was really terrific, and the clips i watched on yt looked like great fun.
into the spider-verse is the best spider-man movie yet imo, and also the best movie of last year. imo.
tom holland is the best film version of peter parker we've had so far.
the character has been brought into the avengers world very nicely.
i'm happy to wait and see what the new film is like. personally, i'm very much looking forward to it.

if you're not, then fair play to you. go off and watch something else.
