PLS READ: links that support "Love on Ice" is a copy of "Yuri!!! On Ice"

While I cannot prove that this movie is a copy of "Yuri!!! On Ice", I just want readers to know that these aren't just my opinions. All of the information I have is from articles and websites that I will link as I reference them!

While the anime "Yuri!!! On Ice" was only just recently announced in April of 2016 (http://www.otakutale.com/2016/yuri-ice-anime-announced-original-ice-skating-series/) but in an interview she said that it has been in the works since before the Sochi Olympics in 2014 (https://wavemotioncannon.com/2016/12/06/an-interview-with-mitsuro-kubo-on-yuri-on-ice-pash-plus-10616-part-1/).

Now it is known that there's absolutely no way that "Yuri!!! On Ice" is a copy of “Love on Ice” (I highly doubt anyone thought that, but I needed to mention it just in case).

The oldest mention of “Love on Ice” that I could find was from October 28, 2016 in an article about a Canadian film studio (https://www.baytoday.ca/local-news/our-downtown-a-big-lure-for-the-movie-industry-450680). Since I have no way of showing that there were no mentions of the film prior to this, I am not claiming that this is blatant proof. However, it should be taken into consideration when evaluating the originality of this film.

Another article I found was a casting call on November 8, 2016.(https://www.baytoday.ca/more-local/day-and-night-background-casting-calls-458938) That means that this film was still in need of cast members just 2 months prior to it’s release date!

As for the last article I couldn’t find a publication date, but it mentioned filming being done at an ice rink in Northeastern Ontario, Canada. (http://www.westnipissing.com/movie-filmed-at-sf-arena--locals-hired-as-extras.html). However, I did some research and I found the website of the complex they were referring to. I dug even deeper and found a notice on that website that mentions the complex would be closed on November 19, 2016 for filming of the movie “Love on Ice” (http://www.westnipissing.ca/en/administrative-office-e/column-4/archives/1273-pool-and-fitness-centre-closed-from-8-30-a-m-to-12-p-m-on-november-19th)

I don’t know how to express my feelings for this. I am utterly disgusted with the Hallmark Channel right now. While this may all be some coincidence, it seems like all the pieces just fit together far too well for that to be true. I believe that “Love on Ice” is a rip off of the amazing anime that came out in late 2016 called “Yuri!!! On Ice”.

I ask that you refrain from watching “Love on Ice” when it airs as this will just call positive attention to the movie and bring it more publicity. If you do make comments about it on social media please make your opinions of it clear so people do not mistake it for praise. If it truly is a copy of “Yuri!!! On Ice” then this film deserves to flop. Even if it isn’t a copy and this is all just a coincidence, we should still draw more attention to “Yuri!!! On Ice” which is a wonderful story about love. It has canon homosexuality and an interracial relationship. There are plenty characters of color and there is so much positive representation in the show. Unlike “Love on Ice” which appears to have the focus be on yet another heteronormative white couple…
