Comets

The comets I've seen don't come zooming by as in this movie. In fact they appear to be not moving at all. Comet Hale-Bopp which I and millions of others saw in 1995 just seemed to hang there in the sky with a long beautiful tail ( like the one shown in the movie), but no zooming. Maybe that's why I didn't get transported into the future :-)
