Electrifying and one of the best films of the year

I went and saw Vice today. The film is sharply written and directed in an electrifying fashion by Adam McKay. Christian Bale transforms himself to play former vice president Dick Cheney. His performance is magnetic and excellent, worthy of award nominations, if not wins. Amy Adams is terrific as his wife, Lynne Cheney. The rest of the cast are great too, including Steve Carell and Sam Rockwell. The film is very interesting, relentlessly entertaining, and thought provoking. It can be really funny at times, and deadly serious at other moments. Vice is a wild, dynamic film that will surprise, enlighten, and disturb viewers. The film deserves several Oscar nominations, including best picture and best director. I rate Vice a 9/10.

A reimagined documentary but I agree one of the best of the year.

Well if you think films by Joseph Goebbels were great then I guess you would think it was a great film... but honestly if it were about someone you had never heard of and didn't dislike you wouldn't find it to be a very good film. It had the feel of a mockumentary like Spinal Tap, but was not nearly as well done as Spinal Tap. Bale did a decent job but only as an older Cheney at the end, in the early part of the film he wasn't that good. The movie has been over hyped.
