The car wreck was embarrassing

On the Blu-ray director commentary, they talked about having thousands of wrecked cars to choose from. And they come up with two cars that do not look like they crashed into each other, while the supposedly fatal wreck has glass smashed on the empty passenger side rather than the drivers side where Affleck is?!? They should have just done a dialogue deal where she gets a call from the hospital or something.
