She is amazingly brave

I understand writing a book, but a whole series on exposing Scientology? She is risking her life and family's life and she still does this! She is amazing!

reply

I agree! I'm very happy to see her expose this cult for what it truly is. I hope more so-called religions are exposed some day too.

Anyone willing to go up against a group that STRONG ARMED THE IRS and got the IRS to back down, has major balls! Ms. Remini must have large ones. ;)

Definition of Brave.

Love and support.

reply

They are horrible and play off the failings that we all have had in our lives. (Well, OK, NOT YOU! LOL!)
A "Church" that blackmails? NOT...

reply

Yes, she is. I admire her for being willing to put herself through all the scrutiny and attacks from this cult in order to expose them. They've attacked her viciously and it makes it even more apparent that they're exactly the kind of people she says they are.

reply

Oh please. It would be so obvious if she was murdered. As it's pointed out, they have other methods of bringing people down. However Scientology is now exposed. People are leaving in droves.

reply

People are leaving in droves? Are they really, Melancholy? That would make me so happy- but is it a fact?

reply

Not just exposing them, but in such a well done and thought out manner as this. I did previously watch Going Clear on HBO in 2015, which is another excellent scathing look into the world L. Ron Hubbard created.

I can also personally attest to the authenticity of what she experienced to a degree. I had a run in with Scientology about 7-8 years ago now. I went in for a free personality test as advertised in the newspaper thinking it was going to be something related to an IQ test or something and as soon as I finished the test, I realized what the deal was. The people administering the test were desperate to get me to buy something and sign up for another meeting, and such. I was afraid they were going to jump me. I was a different person then. I bought a $3 book and left. I promptly threw it in the trash on my way home.

Was this on Hollywood Boulevard?

If I ever go to the Boulevard, headphones and sunglasses are the best deterrent. Or just look them in the eye and say "your 'personality' test is using "e-meters" and asking sensitive information to use against me and control me. No thanks."

I hate to see people on the streets being yelled at but Scientology asks for it. They are saying "you need us, you're inferior unless you join". That trick only works on grade school kids. "You're not cool unless you join". Really?

(Deadpan) I'm devastated.

No I live in Michigan and this was at a CoS branch in my state. This was in 2009 and the building didn't have any markings on the outside at the time that it was a CoS branch, though after driving by it recently, it does have a CoS sign on the building now.

I can't imagine what the influence is like in CA or in Clearwater, FL.

I am an Atheist anyway so they never would have succeeded in turning me over anyway. I felt dirty for going to the thing in the first place once I realized what it was for. The only reason I gave them the $3 for a book is so they would leave me alone. Pushy religious fundamentalist types really are some of humanity's worst IMHO.

Most of the time, anywhere from Orange Drive to Vine Street on Hollywood is 'fair game', it's not like they're hard to spot. Hollywood Boulevard is the modern day freak show. If you're not a tourist, junkie, a local, you'll see the scientology fanatics all dressed alike, synchronised like robots.

I've boycotted them since I first heard of the "church". I wouldn't give them $3 even if they promised to leave me alone. Not even an old linty penny. I'm normally mostly a zen person but if I'm having a bad day and they start to follow me, I'll simply yell back I know what their game is, go ahead and command Xenu to smite me.

But now I'll just smile and say "sorry, I'm with Leah! We've talked on Twitter and I watch the series". So now, I'm kinda interested in seeing how they react.

She really is, on a lot of levels.
