Leah and Mike are imperfect people like the rest of us..

however I believe they are both sincere in their motivation to film the A and E series regarding the dangers of scientology. I don't think either of them is telling their complete story however it doesn't matter. I noticed when they are conducting the interviews with former members they both listen very carefully, are very engaged (hanging on every word) and do not judge. They both seem to have empathy for the former members and their families. IMO their empathy was probably one of the reasons they were able to break free from the church, and also seeing how the $$ plays such a large part. Don't know too much about DM but seems like he may have a personality disorder.
I live close to Clearwater FL and like other posters have mentioned do not understand how this "organization" ever obtained tax-exempt status. There used to be protests in Clearwater against the CoS from time to time but I haven't heard of or seen any recently.

In my experience, most people do not get involved in things that don't affect them directly. I think $cientology is out of sight, out of mind for many people.
