How would you escape from the fenced-in compound?

Clare Headley, I think it was, said she had made arrangements to go to Wal-Mart to get new glasses - accompanied by a CoS escort of course. And when they got inside the store, she ran out to freedom thru a side door. But she had to wait several weeks just to be able to leave the compound to go to the Wal-Mart.
I think another effective way to flee (besides just walking out, which seems like they'd make it very difficult for you to do, especially if you didn't have someone waiting for you outside the gates) would be to pretend to have chest pains or some other symptom of what could be a life-threatening emergency, urge them to get you to an ER immediately, and then make a run for it once you got there.
You'd be declared an SP at that point, but at least you'd be free.

They have their own doctors - you wouldn't be brought to the ER

I would think the only safe way to do it is if you are in a public place. The Scientology people seem to have no problem with physically holding people captive, but would draw the line at acting in such a way in the open. Of course, you would have to be "trusted" enough to be able to leave the compound in the first place.

While realize that most Scientologists do not live in a compound with razor wire around it, but seems my way would be just call 911. If that is not possible then something is really screwed up.

Maybe Leah should pay for drones to drop disposable cells into the place.

The most difficult means to escape is the trap they set in your mind. Listen to the stories Leah presents; A lot of members literally have nothing. They're completely dependent on Scientology - No income, no friends or family. This isn't like fleeing the Amish community; You won't have refuge. You can't go back with an apology. You run with just the clothes on your back and nowhere go.

Also, someone already posted this, but "no" Scientologists would not take you to a hospital ... Not alive anyway ... Google Lisa McPherson. That's a perfect example of how they treat illnesses.

Jesus, even the people stuck inside that fence who are - at least in their own minds - committed to Scientology & feel they belong there aren't as bad off as the ones who desperately want to get the hell out of there, and can't. Hell, I get a little freaked out when I'm stuck in a traffic jam, and that's just for minutes or, at worst, hours. I wish something could be done to help the ones who want to get out of that prison. But you can't even get in touch with them.
