I'm ready for season 2

Damn, just next week's Q and A show then that's it. Wonder how long until a new season. Bet A&E are hustling this along, far better than anything else they have done.

I agree!! I wonder if when they began this, they had any idea it would gain so much attention or thought there would be a need to even do a second season. It would be awesome if they just kept on going, and remain a thorn in the side of these freaks for as long as possible!

I can't die! I have 43 twitter followers that depend on me! oh, and I have a daughter.

Wonder how many staff members have gotten a fist in the face from Miscavige as a result of this show?

I'm ready for season 2 and I don't want to wait long!

Me, too! More than seven or eight episodes, too! Maybe work with Mark, Tony, and John about stories they have uncovered. Maybe hear about the deaths and suicides that have been linked to the "Church" and other lawsuits that have been filed against the "Church" by families or defectors... Maybe hear from people who might be helping people leave and get the help and the support that they need to live in "the real world" (GED, learning how to open a checking account, finding a place to live, shop, etc)...

There are so many stories that need to be told, need to be heard.... maybe the more we hear, the more can be done to stop this "organization", this "Church"... from people who are disconnected, from people who have joined but their families haves, who have left who know about the lies, the manipulations, the possible illegal issues, practices... maybe if someone who have been picked up by deprogrammers, who might have secretly reached out because of the billboard that has gone up by "disconnected" families, maybe other people who have also had lawsuits against them (like the family in last night's episode)... I can go on and on...

If this comes back, what would you like to see?

reply

One obvious episode for a second season: the Lisa McPherson story.

reply

Yes, the entire "conspiracy" (or cover up) surrounding that is fascinating as are the two "suicides" both of which involved riffle shots to the chest and head (I can't believe these were ruled suicides)....I think one of those involved Shelley Miscavage's mother (David's MIL) and I can't remember who the other "suicide" by multiple gun shots involved.

This has been mind-boggling TV for me. That people can be brainwashed so effectively makes this scarier than any horror show. I can't wait for season 2.

reply

Me too!

I always knew that Scientology was basically a cult, that many members were weird and intense, and that they were a controlling, out-there "religion". I read about their basic tenets and rituals (e-meters, thetans, going clear, etc). But I had NO IDEA how far-reaching, insidious, and downright certifiable this organiztion is. The Sea Org, the compounds, the indoctrination and abuse - you're right, it's all absolutely mind-boggling. I just can't believe that this cult has not only survived for several decades, but grown and prospered and is still indoctrinating new victims. It's horrifying.

I agree. I am anxious for Season 2. I think the sooner it comes out, the more pressure Scientology will feel.

reply

Me too. It's a great show and these stories need to be heard.

Each episode is fascinating and really well done. More and more has to come out, after the series is done.
I'm sure there will be more people leaving and more stories to tell.
Bravo to Leah and Mike and all those brave enough to tell their stories.
