Dale is pathetic and delusional

He seems to be losing his mind. First he responds to Connie asking him about their dinner plans by telling her to check the Tums in the glove compartment. He gets worried when he sees it’s running low. Did it not occur to him to buy more?
Then the whole salad the day before the colonoscopy thing. Is he really stupid enough to think it would help ? Does he really think his doctor won’t know? And if he’s already in his 70’s and not going to listen anyway why does he even go to the doctor?
