When you first see his back, the cross scar is quite long, straight and narrow. It's maybe 1 inch wide at most.
In the flashback where he gets branded, the burning cross is at least 3 inches wide and flared at the edges. There's simply no way that would have left the scar he ended up with.
Yeah, I normally try to forgive little things like that, but this one, in particular, really did take me out of the moment.

shareYep, noticed that. Also they seemed to brand him for about 1 minute solid - that thing would have melted through most of his vital organs by that point and be well on its way to coming out the other side. Branding takes a second or two at most.
Decent movie but Evans needs to out substance before style and shocks.
