My impression is No... i.e. he lives and re-unites with the gf.

That said, I wish they hadn't added that last scene at all. I thought it would have been a more powerful ending to see them die together.

That's a good question. When I watched it, I assumed he lived and never even considered that it might've been a dream from delirium or whatever, but you're right that it could've been. I think he did get shot in the stomach.

Of course it was a dying dream. She left him five years earlier and she was hot. No way she wouldn't have moved on and been with someone else.

He was also so badly injured from the gunshot wound that he couldn't save the dog before it was shot. He then crawled to the dying dog to comfort him. There is no chance of survival for him.

So that was supposed to be Brody at the very end? I couldn't even see.
