Too contrived or cliched?

Don't know to drop any spoilers or go too far in to details.

Does anyone here who has seen this think it's too mechanical/done? Too much like other films of its type? The usual, contrived and cliched approach where you can see how 'X' happened beforehand would make formulaic sense after the fact, even not knowing the specifics beforehand? Hopefully somebody gets what I mean what this....

Don't really want to bother seeing it if it's going to be some rehash or like a White House Down-esque/Taken/etc. type film (not saying those are bad movies). Basically I'm not looking for a rehash action/thriller feel, but something more original in at least some sense.

This same reason is why I put the idea of Skyscraper on hold -- might be too similar to other disaster/action type films The Rock has been in, and might not be appealing in any new way much. I wouldn't rush to just see it based only on the cast....

I agree, I liked the other two but now it just feels like it's going through the motions. The series has just become tired now and I feel this should be the last one.

Have a short review of this movie if anyone is interested. Enjoy! Review here - https://youtu.be/ZTgrSK3FXiI
