Okay, anything else to fall?

No?

Lol they'll probably find something....I liked the first one but the second one seemed so pointless. Can't imagine that this one will be any better.

Earth Has Fallen?

-Banning has to save the President AND the world after an asteroid destroys the White House and another even bigger one is on its way!-

reply

And he had to do it by drilling the asteroid to plant a nuclear bomb with a ragtag team of offshore oil rig workers and a Russian cosmonaut. Brilliant idea!

Angel's Arches?

With flat feet he is no longer able to protect the president but with the help of a plucky podiatrist/chiropodist they get the proper orthotics just in the nick of time.

From what I've been reading the whole week building up to the movie's release date (mainly interviews), Angel Has Fallen is going to be the final Has Fallen movie. So nothing else is really going to fall. Angel Has Fallen does have an ending where there is no build to a fourth movie, but if they REALLY wanted to, they could make a fourth. It has an ending like the first movie. The first movie doesn't really leave things open for a sequel and you'd never think the movie would be the first movie of a trilogy, but they found a way to make a sequel along with a third movie. So it's a similar scenario with Angel Has Fallen's ending. It ends things with no hint to a fourth movie, but if they REALLY wanted to, they could make a fourth and find some way to have Mike Banning/Gerard Butler save the day again along with trying to keep The President safe. But from what I've seen in the whole week build up to the movie releasing along with in the Trivia section the movie's IMDB page, Angel Has Fallen is supposed to be the final Has Fallen movie and there will be none after this. And I'd like it if they didn't make anymore. I like where everyone is at the end of Angel Has Fallen. Mike Banning has earned being able to still work for The President, but his job should remain "quiet/boring" until the day he decides to final retire. No more risking his life to save people, especially The President.

I had originally read, way back when this movie was first announced, that it was going to be an Air Force One/Executive Decision type of movie where Air Force One gets hijacked and Mike has to go kick some ass at 30,000 feet. "Angel" was going to be the code word for AF1.

Obviously they decided to go in an entirely different direction with this movie, so they could always run with that idea in the future.

I think I read something like that too, but it was a long time ago that I forgot all about it. Plus I forgot what "Angel" was. I thought it was an airplane or some base they were visiting. Maybe that one getaway place they were at at the beginning of Olympus Has Fallen, which lead to the First Lady dying (I'm going to hit myself once I remember the name of that place).

But I kind of like that Angel Has Fallen turned into "(Guardian) Angel Has Fallen" meaning that The President's guardian angel aka Mike Banning "fell." I was really into the story/plot of Angel Has Fallen.

But I've been reading Angel Has Fallen is the final movie and they are going to do a Has Fallen trilogy. It was mentioned in all kinds of interviews in article form along with it being mentioned in the movie's IMDB page in the Trivia section. So I don't think they can really turn the Air Force One into another Has Fallen movie. Well, I suppose they could, but I think they just want to do the three movies and stop. Plus I think Mike Banning earned being able to have a "quiet" job from now on until he retires. There is always the possibility of a new main character/protagonist, but I like Mike Banning. But I don't think Angel will make enough to green light a fourth movie. Only 15-20 people were at the showing I was at, which was opening day/night.

I agree that they probably won't do a third film. But at the same time, I won't rule it out. I mean, this is the same week where we just got the news that The Matrix 4 is in development and we're also right around the corner from Rambo V.

As for this film's earnings, like you, I didn't have a lot of people in my theater. But I did read that the film was only expected to make between $12 and $16 million this weekend but it beat expectations with $20.5 million. London Has Fallen made $21.5 million opening weekend so there was virtually no drop from that film to this one.

The biggest reason I could see Gerry wanting to give it one more go is that much of the rest of his output in the last handful of years got very little attention. This series has been a hit for him; maybe not critically but definitely with action fans.
