Episodes

I figured I'd make the first post here and hope this board can pick up.

Also, people need to rate the show. I did and its showing it needs 5 ratings so rate away!

I watched the only 2 episodes (so far) and can I just say I LOVE this show? Amy and Adam work so well together. Adam is kind of comic relief sometimes too. I love how close they are in real life because it really comes through on the show. I learn so much from them in watching their investigations. They don't rely on tricks and they aren't over dramatic when they hear a noise or a voice. What I love so much about this show is they are going to peoples houses. They aren't going to tourist sites or businesses. They go to family homes where the people really need help. I think that Ghost Hunters got away from that after the first few seasons and that is what I liked the most. I like to hear other peoples stories and experiences. Another thing is they don't have a bunch of crazy and somewhat flashy equipment, its all very simple but it works. My friends and I are amateur ghost hunters and I feel like we can and do learn a lot from Amy and Adam.

Last nights episode was thrilling. It was the perfect episode for Halloween weekend. What I like about the show is that while there are some creepy parts to their episodes, there are also heartwarming parts. Amy and Adam really want to help these people.

I really hope that this is a show that sticks around for a long time.

Thanks for your post on the Ghosthunters board, eyesonfire83. I was able to find this link to the Kindred Spirits page... and post!

Ditto pretty much everything you said. If Amy and Adam can maintain the quality and production values, it's off to a skyrocket start.

One thing I'd like to add. In episode 2, Amy mentioned their current filming date as it related to the anniversary of an event linked to their investigation. I think that kind of info is really cool. We now know their filming schedule is about three months ahead of their broadcast dates.

On old episodes of Ghosthunters you could see the investigation/filming date on their computer video monitors. Later episodes expunged that data. I don't know why, but it detracted from the personal charm of later episodes.

When they mentioned the date and how it was the anniversary of the other event my wife and I literally gasped and were both like 'ahhh this is way too creepy!'. I really can't find a fault in the show at all. I agree with you about the production values, they don't rely on weird 'spooky' tactics to make the episode a good one. So far they've picked some great places to investigate. I love personal stories behind the investigation. A touristy site or something like an old prison is cool occasionally but it doesn't really grab me. I grew up in a house that had spirits and I've had a few experiences myself. I know what these people are going through so I think that's why I enjoy these types of investigations more.

So... it's all fake and scripted, right?

reply

No.

To be fair, I did create the thread over there. 

Anyway.

I hope the use of mediums on this show is kept to a absolute minimum and that the medium quota has already been reached. Other than that, I like the two episodes that have aired.

Chip Coffey is on next week, but that's it for the season. We use them here and there. :)

I don't mind the use of mediums. The woman on Friday's show didn't act like a quack so that's always a plus. Really loving the show, Amy. I actually just watched Friday's episode again because it was so good.

I'm really enjoying this show. I like that it goes back to basics and incorporates actual research and input from people not directly involved. I'm not much into mediums, but I love Chip Coffey.

Maybe I missed something on the second episode, but I kept wondering why they didn't include the shoebox murderer on their list of possible ghosts. The way they worded the question when they asked if it was him, when he answered yes, made me think it could be the victim or the murderer.

I always liked Adam & Amy. Good show.

I hope they stay away from too much of that as well

If you have On Demand it may be on there. Otherwise it's available on iTunes and on Amazon (for a price of course!)

Of course it`s fake and scripted. These shows are the dumbest crap ever, besides Honey Boo Hoo and Kardashians. Fracking "reality" TV is anything but.

Spoiler alert: No such thing as ghosts or spirits, the supernatural is all bogus.(although one of my guilty pleasures is the show "supernatural", yeah I know, hypocrite much? lol)

reply

Yes. All of these shows are.

On The the episode with Jeanine and Chris; she was trying to understand what her mother was whispering to her when she asked if her mother had forgiven her. What I heard was "yes I have" very clearly. And at the end of the show when they were being interviewed in front

reply

Hey @zzredangel, your post cuts off there. Were you going to say "And at the end of the show when they were being interviewed in front of the camera there was an ORB that moved right to left between them right after there was a bug that flew left to right between them"?

I TOTALLY SAW THAT ORB! I wonder why the producers/editors, etc did not see it when putting the footage together???

I haven't watched either episode yet, but I'm looking forward to it. I don't mind the use of mediums - they use some early on in Ghost Hunters, from what I remember, and also a few other 'religious' people. If they get what they need out of it, that's totally fine. As long as they have some sort of backing behind what they're saying.

With that said, I enjoyed Ami and Adam on GH and think they work well together. Once I see the shows I'll post back.

Also, I'm ALWAYS skeptical about orbs. There are so few that I've ever seen that make me think that they aren't bugs, dust, or a light reflecting off of something else. I guess I'll let me eyes be the judge!

Funny, that's about the same thing I say about mediums. 

HAHA! So true, also!

Just finished the first episode - I like the format. Amy and Adam seem very honest and open. I noticed that the house owner said she didn't visit when her grandmother was sick in the hospital but she made a point to say that she 'called her'. How long was the grandmother in the hospital and why didn't she visit her grandmother? That could be the reason why the grandmother was mad. Christy said she tried calling the grandmother and she said the grandmother started screaming at her (she said she didn't remember exactly what) and then hung up. She was avoiding eye contact at that point, so I'm guessing that she was hiding something. Chances are the grandmother was upset that she didn't visit her in the hospital. I wouldn't blame her for being angry! I'm not blaming the Christy, the house owner, but I think something is being missed. It's possible that Christy feeling guilt from that and thinking any spirits in the house are the grandmother. Just a thought.

Also - how much research does the team do before the visit? I'm thinking that they purposely don't do much research because they don't want to be swayed while investigating.

I love that they are going to homes, especially with children. They seem to care about helping people. Amy and Adam were two of my favorite people on GH, so I'm glad they got their own show.

reply

I loved the spirit box technique in the Chip Coffey episode. A more controlled and valid response. So innovative. Hope to see it again.

reply

I'm the same way. I like that this is their show and they were wise to move on from GH when they did.

I'm really liking THIS show! Amy and Adam are great as a team, very sincere, caring and I believe they truely want to help these families. For once, THIS show does NOT use a loud background sound track during the investigation OR when letting us, the viewers, hear the captured 'noises' or 'E.V.P.s'! Most other shows drown-out the actual evidence with 'special effects '. LOOKING FORWARD to many more Kindred Spirits!! Thank you.

I'm already having withdrawals. I hope I don't have to wait a friggin year for more.
