I heard this was a prequel, so I wonder if we'll meet a young John Marston, or one of his ancestors.
And, technically this is Part 3 in the Red Dead series, even though Redemption isn't really a sequel to Revolver. So hopefully they'll call it something else. I mean they didn't call Return of the Jedi "The Empire Strikes Back 2".
If the title sticks, it'll either be a second "redemption" or an expanded massive remaster, and it will undoubtedly come with a Red Dead Online (with Shark Coins?), which might even be more emphasized than the Story Mode, given Rockstar's latest business model inclinations. For all we know, there won't even be an offline singleplayer mode.
I heard this was a prequel,There's a reason why people (who've played the original Read Dead Redemption to the end) believe that, but some also don't believe that it makes sense for a "wild west" story to take place during or after the Great War, rubbing up against Prohibition. I don't agree with the latter reasoning. share
Rockstar won't jeopardise a a good single player mode for online. It will have both, fully fleshed out much like GTA V, I guarantee it.
If the trailer is anything to go by, it is definitely a prequel. The main reason? Buffalo. In RDR, there was mentioned about 'a time when Buffalo was plentiful', whereas in RDR there are only 20 or so buffalo in the game. Interestingly enough, you get an achievement if you manage to hunt them all. Anyway; the trailer shows a large herd of Bufallo which would suggest a time before they were hunted to the point of 20 in game individuals.
Also; the whole ambiance of the trailer seems to be a much simpler time. Even in RDR there was a car. Not one single car was in the trailer, even in places where there should have been (train station, town etc).
My opinion; a massive single player story mode with multiple protagonists to play as (a la GTA V); + a huge online multiplayer mode with hesit style missions and interwoven story; also a la GTA V).
Basically; GTA V in the Wild West.... BOOM! Can't wait!
