All action...

ALL action, not enough actual acting in this movie. Disappointed.

The acting was fine to me, what were you expecting? The Godfather part 2 lol?

reply

No, just a better movie.

For a part 3 in an action franchise I'm not too sure it could've been better. I usually keep my expectations low for these kind of movies anyways but maybe it's just me.

I do think it could have been better, although I admit the action was well choreographed. Looking back, I can think of action sequels that stood up pretty well to the original movie... I'm thinking Lethal Weapon 2, Terminator 2, Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan, Dark Knight, lots of others. They don't have to go downhill after the original.

Keep in mind those are all part 2s which a lot of times are very good(maybe better in fact), the part 3s is usually where it starts to slip. It's hard to recreate that magic multiple times as time goes on. Franchises like Lethal Weapon, American Ninja, Dark Knight, Batman Burton era, Godfather, Star Wars(everything after Jedi has never quite lived up to the OT), Saw, Child's Play, Hellraiser, Candyman, Terminator, Star Trek(started slipping at part 5 though, picked up after that then it slipped some more), Scream, Alien, Frankenstein, Robocop, all started to suffer from sequelitis by the third film.

It is rare, but there are a few part 3’s that were good. Some even better than their previous installments. Like Die Hard 3, Indiana Jones Last Crusade, & Nightmare On Elm part 3...

I agree with bek though. Wasn’t expecting much, but damn this movie was a huge step down from the 1st & even the 2nd film. There’s hardly even a plot. Just non stop action with poor cgi. I mean, John walks off into the desert until nearing death for this dude to just pop out of nowhere to find him?! Ridiculous.
