Foreign box office weekend dropped only -10.4%. What the hell...$800M+ minimum..

I think that this summer season is an incredibly competitive season for films in a good way. Audiences have a variety to pick from and too much focus is placed on box office performance as a detriment.

$800 Mil is fantastic. Toy Story 4 will also steal views but because they are both Disney films Disney is getting data that will help craft a release schedule for a large stable of different films. Disney is competing with itself but needs to have films capture their dollars as quickly as possible for short runs instead of looking for long theatrical runs.

Disney is also looking to tap streaming revenues in a post theatrical world as soon and as continuously as possible.

Long legs in streaming will be one greater than theatrical legs.

$800 Million in this new world is great for this type of film with much more revenue to come.

Tonight, #Aladdin shd break the $250M mark at the domestic #boxoffice becoming only the 3rd film this year to do it. #CaptainMarvel did it first and then #AvengersEndgame on its 2nd day. All 3 blockbusters are from #Disney with its #Pixar unit on deck with #ToyStory4 next wknd.

and The Having To Watch Endgame Shatter almost every record possible while Embarrassingly Guaranteeing "300 Million was dead for an Opening Weekend and It will be interesting to see if EG can even match IWs OW"

and Now With Aladdin Easily heading for Hundreds of Millions in Profit Instead of The Hundreds of Millions in LOSSES he Claimed when he made a now disastrous failed troll thread claiming Aladdin would flop so bad it would lose a "good chunk of EGs profit"

Anyway, regarrding the film i'll say that after the success of the live action Beauty and The Beast i'm not surprised by its performance. Will Smith is generally component in most roles so I expected him to be alright.
