Terrible cover song

How the hell can they go with this? Same stupidy happend in with Beauty and the Beast.

I understand it is really difficult to bring something similar to Peabo Bryson. But that bad?

I actually liked the new version/cover of the song, and I'm not much of a Zayn person and I have never heard of Zhavia Ward. Zayn sounds like he is trying to be Justin Timberlake with the high pitches and stuff. I'm not saying the cover is my favorite though. But the cover of A Whole New World was good. I still like the Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle version better. I'd even rank the Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey cover higher than the Zayn and Zhavia Ward cover.

I do agree to a certain point about the Ariana Grande cover of Beauty And The Beast. They should've did a full version of what we got in the final Beauty And The Beast trailer. Not this faster R&B/Pop sped up version of it that was actually released. The sped up version that was actually released ruined the song. And this is coming from someone who likes Ariana Grande. The slower version in the trailer would've been more effective and stuff.

But to tie everything together, I do like the Zayn and Zhavia Ward cover of A Whole New World more than Ariana Grande's cover of Beauty And The Beast (well the actual release and not the trailer version). At least in my opinion, this new Aladdin movie has one thing positive so far. And if the movie is awful, at least it still has the song. I still don't know if I want to see this new Aladdin movie. I might just wait for Blu-Ray. Or if my nephew and niece want to see it, I might tag along with whoever takes them, which will probably be their grandma aka my mom.

I somehow understand that they need to link this with the new audiences, the younger ones, but getting Peabo, Celine and Regina for a remastered and improved version of the old ones would had been amazing.

Those songs really had soul in them, not some autotune crap that will be forgotten. Those versions were eternal.

It makes me realize just how different 90's youth were compared to kids now.

90's : Back when I was a kid, we loved these optimistic covers of Disney songs with music video that switched between the singers and footage from the film. If there was a duet the couple singing felt connected and happy to be together. It used to make me want to watch the film.

Now: Two singers, one with a massive neck tattoo (Not that tattoo are bad but it was distracting as I was trying to figure out what the tattoo meant) walking endlessly, looking sad and bored singing to no one, the other on a rooftop also singing to no one and not looking any happier than the guy. They toned down the happiness of the song to be more "current" to the Youtuber and social media generation and that particular generation love it !! But children of the 90's old enough to remember when the original films were released cant help but to feel nostalgic for the more upbeat versions Disney covers we used to get.

Watching the new cover made me feel old and sort of sad :(

There are no songs anymore. Popular music died years ago. Disagree? Ask me if I care.

I think popular music died around 2006-2007 and when Baby from Bieber was released it killed it officially.
