Why didn't she just resign before making her boss look like an idiot infront of the client? She could have even sold the pitch to the client and got kudos all around then quit and gone out on a high.
shareThat bothered me, too! There was no reason in the world why she couldn't fulfill her obligation to her job (and boss) in full and THEN resign her position. Is was a pretty cheap moment in the script when she had her epiphany in the middle of the presentation. She had assured her boss several times that she was going to deliver....and then she left him high and dry! It wasn't even like he was portrayed as the "evil boss" who deserved a comeuppance.
