I had no idea she was cast and I was listening and thinking 'is she trying to sound black?' Then it hit me, 'it's foxy cleopatra from Austin Powers!'

She really is not a good voice actor if I hear her voice and think of a completely different character that she played.

It says a lot about modern society that being adequate for a job isn't related with how good or bad you perform on that job...

Not saying adequate is acceptable. It could have been any person in that role, seems like overkill casting queen B. She wasn't given much to do.

To be honest, I thought Beyonce was fine. She wasn't brilliant by any means, but she did a fairly competent work.

Have to agree that she wasn't very good. I almost got the impression she was just reciting her lines. She didn't seem to get into the character.

I agree, BUT the adult Simba voice was much worse. It was like... hollow. He phoned it in I guess.
