Possible 820 million break-even point

If what Deadline says it's hearing "through the grapevine" is true(at least a 260 million production budget) and when you consider that Toy Story 4 had a 150 million marketing spend we may be looking at an 820+ million break-even point.

It should pass that with relative ease but...yikes!

As I did with Toy Story 4, I have done a cursory check of screenings in my area for Thursday and Friday and they are a little fuller than TS4's were at this point...but not by much. I counted only a couple of sell-outs out of hundreds of showings. Many, MANY totally empty screenings and the others are just sparsely sold or 2/3's empty.

*red alert*

*red alert*

Just did another check on showings in my market.

It's dire.

Many showings at 6...7...8...9 p.m. for it's very first FRIDAY NIGHT are COMPLETELY EMPTY.

This is a repeat of the Toy Story 4 scenario and yet my warnings were dismissed and/or laughed off.

Look out...you've been warned.

reply

well it is a childrens movie they dont do well at night. Also even if TS4 had some empty screenings the movie did very well. I think you over react to things that really dont matter to try and prove how bad disney is. If you look at the top ten money mkers each year disney does very well and they dont suffer the stock loss that others do. Pretty sure Disney knows how to run a media company much better than you.

reply

Red alert red alert........you’ll most likely be wrong again. I bet it outperforms the projections.

reply

Thanks for the warning lol

reply

Sorry I'm late to the party. Lion King's OW is 191 million. What have I been warned about?

reply

As I did with Toy Story 4

^

when I first read this I almost thought you were going to say

"As I did with Toy Story 4 and Aladdin I have set a break even point for The Lion King that I know is going to disastrous FAIL just like they did with TS4 and Aladdin, But I've done this to BUY myself 2 or 3 weeks to troll While The Film is heading to easily TOPPING my break even point"

Possible 820 million break-even point

^^^

also thought the title of this thread probably should have been.....

"Possible 820 million break-even point..........Which The LION KING WILL EASILY Surpass"

your trolling is getting so awful, It now doesnt make sense on any level

you Purposely set this HIGH Break Even point, which is only done to allow you to troll after it OPENS HUGE...

you know TLK is going to open huge, you know thats going to bother you....So You set this HIGH Break Even point, so you can BUY a few weeks of trolling before it easily hits and surpasses your break even point....

lol this entire post was made so, Once TLK opens huge this weekend, You dont have to IMMEDIATELY take the walk of shame and admit defeat....

This thread was made to DELAY you admitting TLK is a Monster hit...

TLK is projected to have a 450 Million Global Opening, and Open over 150 M.....you know by Sunday ITS OVER....you know by Sunday, all hope you had of the film flopping is DEAD when it opens that HUGE......

but Your hatred for Disney controls you....Instead of simply admitting defeat and admitting TLK is a hit.....Your BUYING TIME, Your DELAYING the walk of shame.....By setting The High Break even point, you get to troll for another 2 weeks saying "ya it opened huge but lets see how much more it makes past the break even point"

and as I pointed out with with BOTH Aladdin and TS4 this tactics of delaying....Went down in Burning Flames....sure you got a few weeks of trolling in....But like always, Disneys films easily surpassed your Break Even point and you had to take the walk of shame and hide and avoid the boards .....

at this point, I think Disney's 2019 slate has BROKEN YOU....I think you are past the point of trying to "win" or make any real actual troll threads....at this point I think you are SPITE TROLLING out of pure anger and rage(thats why none of your trolling actual makes sense or ever WINS)....

it cant be easily watching The thing YOU HATE MOST(Disney) have the greatest year in box office history....

It certainly cant be fun watch The thing YOU HATE MOST(Disney) Dominate Year after year for a decade now consistently being the most successful studio for the 7th out of 8 years....

It cant be fun watching Disney Produce HITS that other Studios can ONLY DREAM of....

all of this has literally BROKEN YOU....

reply

Bill...why cant you tell me why this "monster hit" won't match Beauty and the Beast according to YOUR OWN predictions?

TLK is a MUCH BIGGER property and you can tell Disney expected to SMASH BATB's grosses. How? It's production budget is 100 MILLION DOLLARS HIGHER!

reply

I LOVE IT

YOUR TROLLING is so awful....even when you intentionally try to create a scale for a Disney to FAIL you cant get it right!

you thought by creating the "If it isnt the biggest Live action remake of all time" scale You could win...

Instead TLK opening as "UMMMM The Biggest Live Action Remake of All Time"

Epic Fail like usual....

now you get maybe another week of trolling saying "ok so what, it opened big, but lets see how much more it makes past the break even" before you have to take the walk of Shame and leave the TLK board in Shame like you did with Aladdin and TS4

PS....

Astonishing somehow you MISSED by Yet again another 80 Million on a films opening weekend...

I saw your prediction a few days ago of 121 Million...

It truly amazes me that someone could Literally Miss by The astonishing number of 80 M+ on a films OW as much as you do...I think this is at least 14th times you've missed by between 60 to 80 Million on films OW....

PSS

By this time NEXT WEEK TLK will have past your EPIC fail of a "Break Even Point of 820"...

meaning all you did was DELAY taking the walk of shame...

This Will be 3 Disney Films in a row, That Opened HUGE, and you tried the "Break Even" trolling tactic with and It failed horrifically

might be time to give up on "The Break Even Point" trolling tactic ..its not an exaggeration to say it truly has ONLY resulted in Shame, embarrassment and failure for you

For those wanting a comparison
..Beauty and the Beast's production budget was 160 million.

The Lion King cost is a full 100 million dollars higher than that.

According to billbrown, he sees it ultimately making quite a bit less domestically and just BARELY pass it internationally. That's got to be seen as an underperformance in Disney's eyes as this is their biggest animated property of all.

Your head seems firmly lodged inside an orifice it should not be. Everyone in the world seems to be complaining about Disney these days. Taking shots that Disney has money coming out of its mouse ears and how everyone keeps getting duped into paying money into the house of mouse. Remake after remake, MCU, Star Wars, Disney's streaming service, etc.... its one money-making cash cow after another. Disney keeps rolling in it while CEOs behind the scenes laugh their asses off at how gullible people are to keep on paying and making the bank accounts of Disney execs even bigger.

Oh but not QueenFanUSA. Nah. You're the one ignorant sob who is dumb enough to actually think Disney doesn't make enough of a profit.

If it breaks even at the box office, there's always dvd rentals and sale. Those tend to be pretty high for these disney movies.
