Where's the yelling? Potential spoilers

The trainers are too nice. They speak in modulated tones and even handle them with care when directing them! The worst was the plank board guy/Pyle character. I hope they toughen up a bit. I know it's a show but it's supposed to be a bit close to the real thing

Maybe it's fake. :P

I'm guessing you haven't seen the show this is based on. It's not Boot Camp, it's a show where civilians get a chance to see just how hard physically and mentally SF training is. The idea is to let the public learn a bit about the Special Forces world and what they have to go through to become Green Berets, Rangers or SEALs. They don't need to yell, the physical and mental parts are hard enough for raw civilians.

I had a Navy SEAL for a teacher once. He liked me and basically mentored me. One of the scariest things I have ever endured was the time I was having a problem with another student and he found out about it. He offered to teach me how to deal with it and I said yes. He got right into my face and began to talk in a very soft voice. Behind him about 10 feet away, I saw two more teachers and another student who had been talking. They were all white faced, almost shaking, and looked absolutely terrified at what he was doing. I got the full force of it from two inches away. I literally had to move one foot a couple of inches back to brace myself and keep from stepping back. I learned the lesson and have used it a few times. Those guys don't need to yell to be scary. They can actually be much more terrifying when they are quiet.

This show is based on the show SAS: Who Dares Wins. It is a Channel 4/Minnow Films (I think) from the UK. The first season they are in Wales, the second season they are in Ecuador. There are only 5 episodes for each season. They have some bonus material on the Channel 4 website, and the interviews are interesting, but I've never been able to get the videos to play in the US. There are plans in the works for a season 3 with applications being accepted early 2017...I thought about applying even as an American girl until I saw this show and thought I would probably have a better chance of getting in it (I know, I'm crazy). In my opinion the UK show is actually better in a lot of ways, but this one definitely has potential.

As a bonus, if you can find the 2nd episode "Undercover", for Secrets of the SAS, it tells the story of Colin, one of the SAS staff from season 1 of Who Dares Wins, when he was captured in Iraq. He alludes to it in interviews throughout the first season, so I was kind of excited to find another show did it as a dramatization with him telling the story.

For both SAS: Who Dares Wins and Secrets of the SAS you will probably have to look around on the internet for the episodes.

The link to the IMDb for SAS: Who Dares Wins is: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5189220/?ref_=nv_sr_1
