(SPOILERS) What was the moral of the story??

I found this movie to be very engaging, and the performances quite convincing.

But, I didn't get the main message or moral of the story... I thought that Henson's character was quite justified in feeling all that she felt - her hopelessness and quiet desperation when married to Gayle. Plus, she was always being influenced by her sisters to think ill of her husband. She gave him 18 years of her life, supported him and loved him. And the fact that she thought her husband was cheating on her again wasn't a groundless assumption. He had cheated before, after all.

I don't think Tyler Perry made a strong statement with this movie. Although, I DO NOT feel that Henson's character's animosity towards her husband and his fiance post-marriage was justified, I did not think that Henson had it coming to her. She genuinely loved Robert. And she invested a lot in him. That wallet in his car was the straw that broke the camel's back.

What did you guys think about the movie? What message/ moral did you take away from it?

I agree with you to a large extent. I think the new wife left her wallet in the van on purpose. Maybe it did not have any money in it, otherwise wouldn't she have missed it? ITA, her vendetta against the couple was fruitless. Not to mention cruel. She divorced him, and he did buy her mother's house back once his patent was accepted. In addition, gave her millions. She should have just moved away and rebuilt her life. That crazy demented dancing had me cracking it up.
Another thing, why did the husband only submit his patent idea to one company over the years? Overall, I think the movie was pretty good. I saw it last week. That mansion and yacht was incredible. I'm glad the yacht crew did not drown.

I thought Mel was wrong. After all he paid her and returned the house after the divorce. Totally agreed with the judge. Mel was totally deranged.
