Most boring war movie ever made?

Watching it now an it's so boring. No woner it went straight to AppleTV

reply

Nope. It actually has some pretty rad battle scenes in the back half.

reply

Watched it last night. Enjoyable, especially when you have interest in the equipment at tactics used in those battles, though all was not "accurate".

reply

That's what I was thinking... it's more of a war movie for the technically-minded.

reply

It didn't have vampires, zombies or super heroes, other than depicting real heros, so will be lost on most. Think I will give it another watch tonight.

reply

Ya it would give real war technicians a fit. Many things were unrealistic.

reply

For the button counters... What is unrealistic specifically that stands out? What takes you out of the movie? I'm curious.

reply

its pretty pointless indeed.

reply

is this film available on blue ray/dvds??

i am big fan of ww2 film but i can not find this film anyplace!

reply

I think Hanks has a business arrangement with AppleTV. "Masters of the Air" (Band of Brothers trilogy) will be premiering on it as well.

reply

WOW, the trolls really have gotten pathetic.

A) It cannot even remotely be considered boring.
B) It went strait to Apple Tv because theaters were closed due to the COVID Pandemic, you fucking dumbass.

reply

Wow, just 55 posts and already using names. How civilized...

reply

I call trolls as I see them.

reply

Well it wouldn't be a CG post without blatant insults, wouldn't it?
He does have a point, however. Calling the movie boring is just odd and smells like being contrarian for the sake of it and that's coming from someone who doesn't like the movie at all for it's abhorrently dumb depiction of German u-boats and their crews for no other reason but cheap effect instead of sticking to being historically accurate and intriguing.

Personally, I blame the American target audience aside from the movie makers obviously.
I said this before about the movie in another thread:

"The movie could have been a historical masterpiece as it did a lot of things well, but it decided to portray the Germans like monsters from some absurd fairy-tale to entertain the average mouthbreathing American who only cares about explosions, a waving star spangled banner and some corny lines and characters instead of historical accuracy."

And obviously C19 was to blame for the Apple+ thing... so... yeah.

reply

Its shit.
