What's up with all the hating on Kari Byron?

She must have done something to really make somebody mad on this feed. People keep on just picking and picking and picking on her. Did she not acknowledge you when you tried to get an autograph from her or something at Comic-Con? Or are you just an a$$ with no life? She graduated from San Francisco State University with a bachelor's in film and sculpture and work for M5 Industries. I'd say that's a pretty big accomplishment. What have you done with your life?

I don't have any problem with any of the presenters on this show. They were all entertaining on Mythbusters as what I considered the "B Team"... and here I like that this show isn't the pass/fail of an idea but exploring real ideas and seeing how they worked. I also like that they aren't just getting some random smaller side thing to do and are front and center. This should have happened years ago.

I think you just gotta ignore the hate. It's on all the forums here. Every show seems to attract some internet bullies that have such horribly pathetic real lives that they gotta be harsh about other peoples lives to make themselves feel better.

Actually, it's just one person hating.

While I do not hate Kari Byron and surely have better things to do with my life then talk trash about TV personalities I just have to say...

You think a bachelor's degree in film and getting a job in the field you studied in is "a pretty big accomplishment"? Really?

What do you do when, for example, a doctor walks by? Do you fall to your knees and start religiously worshiping him? Because if a bachelor's degree in a non-field like "film" is a big accomplishment to you getting a phd in a real field must be half a step below divinity.

And in case you are curious, I have a master's degree in engineering and work in R&D for a large car parts company. On your knees and refer to me as "your majesty"!

Slow clap for this *beep*

Maybe if he scored a job at M5.

What do you do when somebody brings up the false-dichotomy fallacy?

Here's a hint: There are alternatives to slagging off or irrational criticism other than "falling to your knees and worshiping."

It's almost like you're saying nuance is a thing that exists.
Ridiculous!

Are you saying the life isn't black or white?
Preposterous!

Medical Doctors dont usually have doctorates as the dont do a PhD. They are honorary. So people with actual PhDs are better? Then the fields, some better than others, some unis better than others, some people better than others at their jobs.

But she has been on very popular tv show and become a celebrity thru that, so thats the main point.

I have a master's degree

No PhD? :( I hear a Masters in the USA is equal to a degree in my country....

My pea tastes like toast

reply

First, I am not from the US. I am from one of those countries where degrees are actually meaningful. And I actually have a diploma. I just translate that to a master's degree.

Second, obviously you are not from one of the countries where English is taught properly. Your post is a barely comprehensible mess. I do not say this to insult you. I just honestly am not certain that I even understand what you are saying. Your comment about PhDs seems to have no logical connection to my post. I literally have no idea what you want to express, whose side you are on...
