Report her missing?

An earlier episode stated cora left a week before phoebe died

I think I missed something somewhere but surely the obsessive parents would have reported her missing (or the hospital would have queried why she wasn't having the next round of treatment)

Didn't the mother say that they didn't file a report because she was sure they both ran away together - just like they had planned it for a long time? Apparently, she had heard them whisper about building up a new life in Florida.
