the last number is 30% underestimate, proper for dry birch logs, however a growing tree has the density of 900 kg/m3 ....

Even if Chao Zhang thought the tree (dead, broken or for whatever reason) was dry he should have used the a set of values for his analysis. Using a value which deviates from officially known facts is a manipulation unworthy of a scientist.
