I once saw a snippet of Joe Rogan's old comedy, and he sounded like a white George Lopez, so I put off watching this, thinking it would be more of the same. But I was bored, I wanted stand-up, and it was on Netflix.

Wow, has Rogan revamped his act! This highly intense and creative show knocked my socks off--he was part stoner philosopher, part Curly from the 3 Stooges, and he can imitate voices, do faces, and his observations on life and culture and parenthood--all so funny.
None of that trashy race and sex talk you hear from vulgerites like Chris Rock--Joe's show is so "decent" and "contemplative" by comparison. I was thoroughly ENTERTAINED!!

He killed it absolutely! Regained my respect as a comedian (he always had it as an MMA announcer).

Chris Rock is leagues above Rogan.

I agree - he actually does a fair amount of acting in his bits and it works.

His new special 'strange times' is more of the same - good stuff.

It is - The bit about vegan cats was particularly good. I don't usually laugh when seeing comedy stand-up specials, but he got me with this bit.

His observation of the animals and pet owners - and the him acting them out - some of his stuff is really, really good. And like I said before, what makes Rogan really stand out from other comedians are his acting chops - which sort of surprised me.

So - I've only seen only 2 of his comedy specials (triggered and strange times), but based on what I've seen - I'd say he's one of the top comedians alive right now.

Which is funny because he has the fear factor and the ufc plus his other tv shows

Yeah - it's fascinating. He also works out a lot - and he has a family. I don't know how he manages it all.

By the way - just googled it - apparently he also talks about vegan cats in his podcast.

The thing is though, his podcast delivery is not even close to his stand-up. Like I said, it's his acting during the comedy specials that really make this stuff funny.
