Is Bondi a paradise for the gay population? This series gives the impression that most of Bondi dwellers are gays.

No it isn't at the moment. I think what you've observed is more a case of social wish fulfilment on the part of the show's writers. Bondi is part of Sydney's Eastern Suburbs which overall has a higher *obvious* homosexual population than elsewhere in Sydney. However, real estate prices and rents in the Eastern Suburbs are obscenely exhorbitant -- rising 15-20% /year over past 5 years. Given their tendency to higher disposable incomes and better financial upwards mobility gays will soon be the only community able to afford to live in Bondi and environs.
"Paradise for gays", as you out it, actually is anywhere where gay lifestyle choices -- as defined and re-defined on an almost daily basis by the LGBTQI AtoZ -- are 150% accepted unconditionally by the straight lifestylers. Don't think such a place exists on this planet. Gay people aren't bashed anywhere near as much as they used to be in Sydney so perhaps that's some kind of progress towards tolerance and understanding. share
