Critics were (as usual) were just dead wrong on this film

LIFE ITSELF is a wonderful film. I've no idea why the critics slammed this movie so hard but I'm happy to say that the movie is gradually winning people over as more and more people discover it. I noticed that the vast majority of User Reviews on IMDB were praising this film with over 90% of the viewers giving it 8's, 9's or 10's. It is free on Amazon Prime so I decided to check it out. Incredible movie. Don't want to say anything about the plot b/c the less you know going in the better. Do yourself a favor and watch this film. You will be blown away and smiling through your tears.

I agree with the critics. You must have a high tolerance for trite sentimentality to like this film. One wonders why the film switches to Spain from New York about half-way in and then groan, or laugh, when the movie unfolds the unbelievable coincidence of the Spanish boy in the bus looking out the window at the woman just hit and killed by his bus eventually marrying her daughter (born at her death!) after just happening to meet her on a park bench somewhere in that vast city (and they never spent a night apart for the next 42 years)! Truly stuff made only, one thought, for Hallmark movies. And from the numbers on IMDB (a measly 12,000 ratings) it doesn't appear to be making much viewer headway.

And you obviously have no soul. Good luck with that. And congrats on agreeing with the professional critics.

Yeah, I don’t know why some people want movies to be “realistic”…art is about themes and ideas…not rote realism.
