Reminds me why I like Batman Forever/Batman & Robin......

After watching Suicide Squad, it makes Schumacher's movies look like Citizen Kane and The Seventh Seal! Sure, I love Batman 89/Mask of the Phantasm/The Dark Knight but sometimes I'm in the mood for some goofball Batman. My only problems with Schumacher's movies is that some of the casting/costume design sucks and I wish his camerawork was more dynamic like Sam Raimi.

Also, why can't we have both light and dark Batman? People get too worked up about this sh!t!!!FACT!!!

I loved Batman Forever - I was 15, Jim Carrey was on top.

The movie was colourful and vibrant. Was a little disappointed with the way they took Two-Face, after I was used to the menacing monotone from Richard Moll in TAS. After that came out, there were character and casting predictions for Batman's 4th screen outing. Since Patrick Stewart was very popular after TNG's run, it was probable that he would take on the icy task of filling Mr Freeze's cryo suit.

Thankfully, he said no - and there's no blizzard filled dark cloud hanging over his resume that says Batman & Robin.

There's nothing good about the 4th film... save for maybe Michael Gough as Alfred... but even that messed up Batgirl's background.

I feel the same way about Batman Forever (wrote an article about it here for the 20th anniversary http://247365hatemachine.blogspot.ca/2015/02/batman-forever-20th-anniversary.html) and Two-face should have been played like he is in TAS while TLJ would have been great if he did it like that instead of a Joker clone trying to compete with Carrey's Riddler.

I think B&R could have been good with better casting (Nichole Kidman should have played Poison Ivy, Heather Graham = Batgirl, Patrick Stewart as Freeze) and if Schumacher toned down the stupid puns. They could have made B&R a fun, colorful and exciting Batman movie if they went that route.

Such a missed opportunity for sure - sadly we'll never know.

I'm still holding out hope for a TAS reboot/continuation with Conroy and Hamill.

My favorite Barman movie besides the 1966 version is Batman and Robin. It was colorful and like 1966 did not take itself too seriously. I am not a Dark Knight Batman fan overall because it is too dark. The exception being this film.

.....Zing!

My favorite Barman movie...

Barman... Pours the bad guys a 'cold one' whilst they talk it over? Maybe instead of 'Pow!' and 'Bam!' we'd get 'Slurp!' and 'Guzzzle!'

All for a box of chocolates...
