Are you planning on seeing this?

I am.

reply

Absolutely. It looks visually stunning if nothing else, but from what I've heard so far from the trailers, Halle Bailey sounds really good.

reply

Agreed.

reply

I am in love with the way the mermaids' tails look.

reply

I'm not a child.

reply

Adults who are fans of the original might be interested in this. Also, adults who are fans of someone in the cast might want to see it. It's not just for children.

reply

No, but I'm an almost 55-year-old guy without children. No version of "The Little Mermaid" is of interest to me.

reply

What about a version with nudity and the mermaid dying then turning to sea foam after refusing the murder the prince in his sleep?

reply

That might be mildly interesting.

reply

I got the uncut version. I thought the dialog was boring; possibly due to the translation from Japanese to English. The 1989 version was better even though it was changed for a milder rating.

reply

Not a chance.

reply

no I saw the photos with the big height discrepancy--awkward. If they wanted a black actress they could have cast a taller one. This looks like he's dating a kid. Yuk

reply

Fuck no. Delete this, Allaby.

reply

Why? It's a remake of a popular film from my childhood. It looks like it is going to have great visuals and wonderful music. I think it could be a big hit.

reply

1. It's a musical
2. It's a remake
3. It's Disney
4. Looks like shit

reply

1. musicals are awesome
2. valid point
3. Disney has done some good stuff in the past
4. disagree

reply

[deleted]

No, because all the Disney live-action remakes have sucked.

reply

I liked a few of them.

reply

you like shit movies then

reply

Sometimes, yes. Film is subjective.

reply

Shit remakes of great movies aren't just a waste of time, I find their existence offensive!

No more of these shitshows for me, and I've got Disney Plus so I don't have to pay extra for them.

Yet, still paying for Disney. lmao

reply

It's my money, dude! I can easily afford the channel, and if all I want to with my subscription is watch the stupid Thor movies over and over, it's money well spent.

reply

Hard pass.
