Hallmark Streak Continues! (Plus a Facebook reference)

Please see my comment in "Along Came A Nanny" and some other Hallmark film comments. I can't keep up with all of the instances of this happening. I am near the computer this time ... and in "Summer Love" we get "What are you doing here?" again, unnecessarily, in fact redundantly, in the dialogue.

There is also an odd "What are we doing here?" in the script. Honestly, how often would anyone in real life ever say that phrase?

Here's something funny. A fellow named Jim Blevins created a Facebook page in which the chief, if not only, entry, is: Most over-used line in all of the Hallmark Movies..."What Are You Doing Here?".

Wife and I are not alone in noticing this streak, it has persisted for several years now. More to follow.

So how long have you been watching Hallmark movies? The story lines are all the same so why shouldn't the scripts use the same verbiage?

But cheesy as they are, I still enjoy them just like I used to love my Harlequin romance novels as a teenager. lol

I concur. They may be template but they are the good kind, and I kinda like these fairly ordinary stories about ordinary people. And the "What are you doing here" line... I don't think they are Hallmark-exclusive - probably the most used line in movies since "Hi".

Yeppers. I thought of you and your wife on this one...
