Why would you keep...

Going back to the store that fired you? Or your son in the case of Coopers grandma.

Another thing about these, department stores have all closed up. Even Macy's is closing many stores. I suppose an Amazon fulfillment center would not make a romantic backdrop for a story. But there should be more modern stories out there.

Agreed about all these things--it's pure Hallmark nostalgia for family-owned businesses versus impersonal corporations, but not in touch with the real world.

I also found it annoying that Victoria placed so much emphasis on the perfect Christmas display as the criterion for making her choice for manager of the Paris store. There would be a lot more things more important then that in running an overseas store. In fact, the French view of Christmas would be different, anyway. Understanding French culture would be much more important.

I found the final display a complete disorganized mishmash-what on earth was so great about it?

I know! I keep watching some of them in the hopes there is 1 or 2 that live up to Hallmark HOF. I haven't seen any. Heavenly Xmas was awful. Why would a dead mother make sure her brother was ok? She didn't say a thing about her child. Dad was in hell I guess? Not christmasy at all. I stuck with sound of music tonight.
