I totally get it now why she poses and acts vain

On last night's episode, Mariah said something I've heard from my teen daughter and other young girls. When Tanaka tried to fix her hair, she got worried about her appearance and said, "Now, I feel insecure.......Everbody is always judging me, like how I look and stuff." My daughter once told me that going to school is like being on display for everyone to criticize, and it makes her self conscious. Imagine a celebrity like Mariah who never gets to leave high school. They're ALWAYS on display. In this day and age, it's worse than ever before. If she has a piece of cake, a million people are posting pictures of her on social media the next day, saying she's fat and needs to go on a diet. To others, she's perfect and told not to change a thing about herself; but even that is stressful, because we all change as we age. This life under a microscope would be hard for anyone, but Mariah seems especially fragile, emotionally. She's not like those strong females who tell everyone to just f$&@ off, if they don't like what the see. She's like an insecure little girl inside. I can see it now. That's where all the preening and looking for a good camera angle comes from.

The other thing is that Mariah has been groomed to be a sexual object from an early age for photo shoots, videos, concerts, and in the public eye. She seems to always have that idea of herself -- that she needs to present the world with SEXY at all times. I feel sorry for her that she rarely feels like she can just relax and be herself; but I doubt she even knows who she is. THIS creation might be who she thinks she has to be at all times now.

That was a really well thought out and compassionate thought. I agree with you.

There's a big difference between being yourself and trying to blend in no matter if your famous or not. It's altogether on you to go out half-naked or one piece of material shy from being naked and then moan about people talking about how you look or what you wear. Mariah, J Lo, all the Kardashians and a bunch of other filthy rich celebrities have the means never to seen in public. They can ride in unassuming vehicles. They can dress down and go out with people that don't look like they're president 2nd team Secret service squad. They also could have kept their kids out of the public eye. Mariah lives to be seen in clothes too young for her & too small for her. she lives to be adored. That's why she tried to get money out of the ex-fiancé. He didn't worship her anymore so she figures he has to pay. Why else would someone who's filthy rich ask for a settlement for a broken engagement? All those mentioned have never met a mirror they didn't look into when passing. Or passed up a photo opportunity to be seen half-dressed.

I think this has a lot to do with what I said in my second post about being groomed as a sexual object. Her entire identity revolves around her attractiveness. She needs constant validation, which is why she goes out in public in provacative clothing, even when she's self conscious about being judged.

At this point it's sad because she doesn't want to admit or she hates that she's no longer a young twenty-something. You can look beyond fabulous with the money she's got but she always looks one step above street hooker , like in the picture below.
