The level of Mrs Candace Cameron Bure's acting

I am an old man; 78 years old, in fact. I have watching film and stage plays all my life. Some contained family members. I enjoy good acting - film, radio, stage play, it is something to be enjoyed. Miss (my mother always told me that a professional woman is to be addressed as "Miss." Miss Bure's acting, at times seems rather forced, ever when the particular passage seems terribly bland. Smiles galore, even perky, but perky is woefully inadequate when expressing adult conversation. It may be all right when it represents a gathering of high school kids, but it is on the verge of insulting when it is used to portray adult conversation in a serious vein. At least her portrayals are consistent. Thank you

I discovered these movies a month or so ago and instantly fell in love with them. I love the 'feel' they emit and the locations are stunning. They're comfort food for my eyes :-) But, halfway through the second movie in the series, her acting was really becoming noticeable. Soon, it's all I could focus on, that and the amount of makeup Martin wears.

I really like Candace Cameron Bure. In fact, she's probably the only celebrity I've been told I looked like my entire life, so it'd be silly to find her anything less than fantastic. But seriously, play back the over exaggerated facial expressions. No need to smile when finding dead bodies or being chased by the murderer.

what's keeping me drawn to them is her boyfriend martin......i am just in love with yannick bisson and i'll watch him on pretty much anything..

aren't they supposed to be playing younger though then they really are......

Funny you say that, I watched that movie again last weekend and he too is growing on me. He's absolutely adorable in this, isn't he? I love his combination of shyness and take charge. He's a really, really, good actor and not too bad on the eyes either ;-)

I'm not sure if I watched him before, but I'll look for him in the future.

if you possibly can...watch him on murdoch mysteries...i knew him before that series.....but on that he really shines....he's been on it for 10 years now..i'm so hoping for year 11..

once on an eppy it had his real wife and daughter.....his wife was playing a teacher, i think for a girl's typing school...and his daughter was the pupil....

he married her when he was 19, he got her into trouble.....and they have two other daughters..

i saw him speak about her once....and the way that his eyes lit up.....when he talked about her, is just so adorable...

if you can find anything else he's been in......watch it...i can't watch loves to dance, or something like that he plays the baddie...but that's the only thing that i know of that he's ever played the baddie in....

he's been acting as well since he was around 19......or possibly even younger....

I watched a few interviews last night with Yannick...my favorites are the ones where he's speaking in French. But thanks for the tips, he'll definitely be on my must watch list!

Fyi, as if you probably haven't seen them enough already, the Aurora Teegarden movies are running on Hallmark right now ;-)

I'm OK with her casual acting. I like her because she is more feminine than some of the martial arts heroines of some TV movies.

Lori Loughlin is my darling of this current type of mystery sleuth. But Candace Cameron Bure comes a close second.

I rather agree with your assessment of Lori loughlin's acting. She is indeed pleasurable to see and hear. I would also appreciate seeing her in programs with higher production values. However, my opinion of Mrs Bure's talents remains unchanged. Her histrionics often outweigh the script. The entire scene seems to exist only so that she can mug for the camera. The actual emotion of the moment is often skewed in favor of her insincerity. When I was a small boy, as I first began to attend stage plays and films, I was told that the principle occupation of the actor is to sell his/her part in the action. At university, I had a professor who said much the same thing. He was a rather famous stage and television actor who often spoke of the actor's sincerity in a particular scene. If sincerity is lacking, then the scene suffers. Thank you for your interest.
