Worse than the Steel Magnolias remake

I didn't think anything could top that one. Every (Lifetime) remake is rushed and loses the charm of the original movie. Plus there was zero chemistry between Hillary and CC in this one. Bette Midler was awesome in the first one cause she had that firey personality as the Jersey girl and Idina is just too sweet a girl to play that part. Pair that with the uptight rich white girl and you get a friendship that balances the other one out. They both had too strong of personalities in the remake and something was lost. Disappointment.

Totally agree! This was awful! Way worse than the remake of Steel Magnolias. I wanted so much to love it... i hated it. I also agree that the characters had ZERO chemistry. Including younger versions of Hillary and CC. I didn't buy that they were even close friends let alone best friends for thirty years. Bette played a much better CC. The thing that made the first film so fun and entertaining to watch was how different CC and Whitney were, CC the tough girl from jersey and very rich Hilary and despite their differences they still became the closest of friends. It didn't come across that way at all in this version.

the fight where CC says she trusted believed and depended on the friendship made me stop and scratch my head because nowhere did it seems like she cared in the movie esp having the scene right after not going to her wedding and fathers funeral. it

you have to ask yourself are you a fighter, or are you zombie food

^Yes!Their fights are what made me not like this movie the most. The big emotions behind the fights weren't there like in the original. The fight they have at the beach didn't seem real either. When CC tells Whitney your not dead yet, I didn't feel either was truly angry at each other, it seemed more like a conversation, not a fight.

I didn't buy them as anything more than acquaintances.
