Absolutely horrendous remake

This movie did not even come close to having the heart of the original. It felt disjointed and rushed in certain parts. It didn't feel like "Beaches", it just felt like a generic Lifetime movie.

I haven't seen the original in years but I have to agree. The flow didn't seem natural and I didn't feel their friendship was that genuine. Honestly they only seemed to have a good connection after Hilary comes back pregnant. The other scenes just didn't have a natural flow. I blame it more on the disjointed cuts and editing. I did think the actresses cast have chemistry but it didn't feel written naturally. Also the little girls looked nothing like the adult actresses.

I really wanted to like this. I love Idina. But man, this was brutal. Barbara Hershey and Bette Midler just nailed their characters. Barbara played Hillary so perfectly. The scene in the remake where she finds her husband with another woman didn't even come close to Barbara's delivery. "You're wearing my robe" just killed me. I just didn't buy these 2 as best friends.
