I'm not saying Nia Long isn't an attractive woman, but the character is supposed to be beautiful ("People look at you"). The fact we're supposed to believe men would sooner notice Long than Idina Menzel is just as much a joke as anything else in this movie.
shareI find her beautiful. Idina is beautiful as well, but it's not as apparent. I definitely find Nia more beautiful than Barbara Hershey - I thought she did fine in the 80s role, but wasn't tailor-made for it. She was only pretty in comparison to Bette (who they really had to drab down).
