Is the main character consciously doing a Pat Morita impersonation ?

Come on, mr Kim is too funny. That stop line alone is enough for me to love him

What surprised me a little bit is the accent he has on the show is TOTALLY created by the actor to fit the stereotype of a native Korean who has not been in Canada long enough to have lost the accent.

When I saw the actor who plays Mr Kim being interviewed - there was absolutely NONE of that 'immigrant' tone to his voice or actions - which surprised me - which made me realize I was making assumptions about him.

And the same with his wife.

I kinda get a Mr. Miyagi vibe from him too. I love the show though and think he is funny as f#%k.
