This movie is full of faulty logic...

and I'm only 1/3 of the way through it!

Don't get me wrong, I consider myself agnostic... If there's a god up there, or if it's just science governing us all... Who knows... But this guy's "the book didn't create itself" logic is laughable...

The bottom line is, no matter if it was science and chance, or intelligent design, we as humans are far too unintelligent to comprehend, much less discover definitively, who or what created the universe, what created life... We're stupid, stupid species with a brain that is biologically unable to transcend the boundaries of itself to examine the true nature of life and the universe...

In fact, the only POSSIBLE way for anyone to understand the nature of life is to somehow exist OUTSIDE of it. Outside the confines of the scientific universe. You could call that god, or you could call it something else... But the point is, a being that lives within the confines of a box can GUESS what the nature of things outside the box might be, but is totally unable to know for sure if it is right or wrong. So any person who claims there IS a god, AS WELL AS anyone who claims there ISN'T, truly has no idea what the hell they're talking about. End of story.

Another problem with his logic... Let's say the atheists are wrong and a god does exist... Who's to say it's the CHRISTIAN god?? This guy is so sure that the god of Christianity is "God..." But what if he's wrong? What if it's really Ra? or Allah (technically the same as God but sorta different)? What if it's really the Greek god? What if it's the Norse god? You get the idea... This guy is merely trying to prove that the Christian god exists... Which is much more biased than a guy who is more generally trying to prove that "a god" exists.

Is there a difference? Of course. Because a god of one religion may say one thing is ok, whereas a god of a another religion doesn't. If this guy were to set out to prove a supreme being exists, I'd give him a BIT more credit than he gets now (which isn't much) because he's not trying to prove one religion over another, merely the concept of a supreme being. But he's not doing that here. And that alone makes him biased and an improper individual to lead a dismantling of atheism.

I'm a "spiritual man of science"... I believe science governs the universe, but i also believe that the idea that all matter in the universe ALWAYS existed is totally illogical. That presents a problem, because according to the universal laws, energy and matter can not be created or destroyed, only change forms. So, in order for something to be created out of nothing, there had to be a force that was able to transcend the laws that clearly exist in this universe. And I will totally accept that. What I don't accept is for any man to claim his story is the right one, when AT BEST, the story of the bible, or judaism, or islam, or whatever religion, is "the word of god, as written by man"... And for an imperfect being to write of the nature of a perfect being is inviting error.

Take christianity for example. The inspiration for the bible may be divine, but the hands that wrote it were not. If god gave man choice, than he could choose what to write; to serve god or to serve himself. So one has to wonder what parts are there to advise people of what god wants, and what parts exist to serve those who wrote and promote the book. Christian's can't have it both ways, either we have choice and wrote an imperfect book, or we don't have choice. And clearly we do, because we humans either choose to live by "god's word" or we choose not to. Same goes with writing the books.

I belong to Jesus: my Lord, Savior, my eternity, my everything. I love you, Jesus!

Does he save us from your incessant preaching? No? Then he doesn't save.

Hey, preacher person,

Do you see the contradiction and oxymoron in this (while an oxymoron has contradictions the contradiction you have stands alone, and then there's an oxymoron right after it):

...Then when I was a teenager, I just stopped going to Church but never stopped believing in God. I went to Church very rarely since and then within the last ten or so years, I had an awakening and proclaimed Jesus as my Lord and Savior.

Probably not.

As an aside, preacher lady, why did you have to go to church to find Jesus? Did you get rid of your Bible during those times you didn't go to church? Did you have it but you couldn't find Jesus in it? Did he disappear? Was it the devil? You can tell me.

Where does Jesus say you have to go to church? Actually, where in the New Testament does it say you have to go to church. In case you haven't read the Bible (many Christians haven't), it doesn't say it anywhere in the New Testament. Sort of says it a couple of times in the Old Testament but doesn't actually mention an actual building, or what not. One says to gather and spread the love of Hebrewism (Judaism) and the other says to not forget to meet with friends and converse on god. Oh but then Jesus did go to the synagogue and preach his word. Wouldn't that mean you have to go to synagogue? I mean, if you're a true worshipper of Jesus, shouldn't you be Jewish like he was?

So...why did you have to go to church? I mean, are you one of those Christians who say those who don't go to church are sinners? And if so, how so?

If you would like to debate this more, I have read 14½ versions of the Bible (the last one I read was just overly condescending and couldn't finish it). Or I could give you a link to an atheist website I administrate and you can attempt fo convert all us heathens. Preaching is allowed there. Most atheist websites don't allow that but we do, for the time being.

Let me know.
