So did anyone else feel the ending rescue was just tacked on?

It seemed really rushed to me at all of a sudden they just found him..

Also i felt they could of set up a communication system with him after phone died, like the honks or taps on metal or morose code or something and had listening devices on him early on..

Also, why could they just send a sniffing rescue dog down the hole with a backpack of food?

Or,howcome he could not charge his cell phone? Even with the broken wires he could easy just splice them back together or get the charger from the girls car

But over all i liked it..

I agree that it felt a bit rushed especially when it seemed all hope was lost. But remember, the rescue guy had been down once and dropped that mic thing. The charges are blown and the main guy has to get the hell out of there and goes to his car and uses the honk, or was it the young woman's car? This was his very last option. Because also, just before that he had heard his wife on the radio asking if he was still alive. This was the last thing he could try to show them he was still alive. So even though it felt somewhat rushed, it did make sense.
