Cynthia Davis mystery

Just watched an episode of Hollywood Unsung, and the director insinuated that she's no longer living. However, he was clever with his wording: "she's no longer with us" could mean that she suffered a mental breakdown, and chooses to keep her life private.
I've seen posts by people claiming to be family members saying she's alive and well, but no word directly from Cynthia....
