It was alright

This was a pretty straightforward action flick. Not bad to watch on a afternoon. Though, it's more of a rental. You won't remember it much after a day or two. As for the "is it woke" crowd, nope. It's just a movie.

Yeah - nothing monumental about it but it wasn't terrible either, especially considering it was pretty low budget. Have to love the 50cal sniping though... what a beast :)

reply

Good point on the 50cal.

Cuts through vehicles like paper and sends bodies flying... and that's pretty realistic, the 50cal is not designed for low key situations, it's for when you absolutely must end the enemy and/or their vehicle as certainly as possible.

FUN & FINE ...OR... FINE & FUN.

Actually fine and fun. The movie is pretty tame until the big action sequence at the end. Before that, it's run of the mill.

'Alright' is the best way to describe this. The cast and action was competent but not especially memorable. Kind of wish the villains were more ott but they were just generic foreign baddies. Gerard Butler and Mike Colter were both good but the hostages and flight crew were just kind of there to be saved. I reckon it's refreshing but also kind of surprising neither male lead or even the copilot hooked up with the lead flight attendant. I appreciate the tone being more serious and less jokey than what we get nowadays for these kinds of movies.

I just watched Jurrasic world dominion last night and it was exactly the jokey action stuff that grinds my gears. I have to agree that it was good that they played it straight with the tone.
