Pretty much Pokemon The First Movie

Is what it felt like but with CGI done pretty well (except for Gengar). If only Sonic learned from Pokémon. I sort of fell asleep for some reason halfway through the show but was there for the final battle with Mewtwo. Loved the cutesiness overall and interaction with Pikachu & Psyduck.

Think there was a problem with my theater because the sound felt standard and not the ultra surround one pays extra for (even though I didn't pay anything). Movie is somewhat to overly predictable depending on how you look at it. If you know nothing of Pokémon then this may not be for you as there are lots of references within the show itself including the slapstick comedy that Ryan does as Pikachu.

What Pokémon cards did you get? I got Pikachu and Psyduck before I realized there was Mewtwo and 2 other overly powerful cards even though I don't play the card game myself. :/

I assume it's good for young girls age of 8?.. I've no knowledge of the Pokémon world (yes, kill me)... But my daughter is keen.. Hope it's not as stupid as Emoji movie and Pixels and stuff..

Definitely not like Emoji garbage movie. Your daughter will love it with all the cute pokemon she'll get to see and the cutesy noises they make. Who knows, maybe she'll get into the card game where they give out 1 free promo pack containing 2 shiny cards.

I got Pokemon cards at my local theater prior to seeing this movie as well. I got Pikachu and Psyduck as well

Lol, we got the same ones then. I went back and grabbed a bunch more, they were trying to get rid of them as fast as possible so I got around 12 packs but they contained many doubles. All packs have a Detective Pikachu and there is a chance you'll get a unique second but those are somewhat rare.

Here's my small collection from the packs I opened:

I had about a 10 minute nap somewhere in the middle.

Yes, I think it was the part where Pikachu and the main character were sitting by a water fountain. It was sort of sad music thing that lulls one to sleep.
